Remembering David Schnaufer

Celebrating our 50th Anniversary and reflecting on important players, builders, and events, one player’s influence cannot be overstated: David Schnaufer.

After Stephen Seifert put out a call for memories to be included in a feature story, it quickly became apparent that it would take more than just a few pages to truly capture David’s spirit and his lasting impact on the mountain dulcimer community.

So instead of one article, we are going to dedicate an entire issue to David Schnaufer. Publication date is yet to be determined, as we don’t want to rush this incredibly special project, but it will be within the next year.

We are inviting everyone to share their favorite memories (~250-500 words) and photos (the highest resolution you have) related to David for inclusion in this commemorative issue.

Other materials (for example interview transcripts, or arrangements of public domain or original songs dedicated to David) are most welcome as well.
