Lullabies & Kids Songs Submissions
Deadline: September 1, 2026
Help us celebrate our new baby in the November 2026 issue of DPN!
Share your hammered dulcimer and mountain dulcimer arrangements of your favorite lullabies and songs for kids.
What is a song for kids?
We keep a pretty loose definition around my house: music the kids like to listen to. Turns out that covers quite a lot of territory! So, what are we looking for? A kids song could be:
a song someone used to sing to you when you were a kid
a song you frequently sing or play for children
a song you think every kid ought to hear
a song you loved when you were a kid
a song you wrote for kids
Our biggest constraint is that the songs we publish must either be in the public domain or be original works. If you have questions about what is in the public domain, this is a good place to start.
What to submit:
Arrangements should be submitted as PDF documents, either via email to editor@dpnews.com or via the form below.
Please also share a few sentences about the song, including, for example, where you learned it, why you love it, what makes it special and meaningful, and/or tips for playing or performing the piece.
We will share as many submissions as print constraints allow, but please keep in mind that submission does not guarantee publication.
